Let’s imagine that you were on the first waka to arrive at Shag Point. You had never been to New Zealand before and you had no idea what to expect. Write a poem describing how you would have felt when you arrived in New Zealand. Would you have been excited or scared? I would have felt pretty nervous, I reckon…
Feeling afraid and scared
All the mens surrounding me had a beard
I didn't know what to do but walk
I could hear whispering and talk
I walked step by step slowly
I had no friends I was lonely
All I said to the people was Hi
And then when we had to go I said Bye
Hello Ofa, I also would of been nervous if I first came to New Zealand because I didn't know what to expect. I really like how tried hard and managed to make all of your sentences rhyme. Keep it up.
ReplyDeleteHi Ofa,
ReplyDeleteYour poem was really interesting and I liked how you made the words rhyme in every last word of your sentence.

WOW Ofa! This is very creative. I really like the images your words created in my head. Well done for taking part in the Winter Learning Journey. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of your posts :)
ReplyDeleteHi Ofa. I really like your poem, because you had rhyming couplets. You have been doing really great on the Winter Learning Journey activities, keep it up.
ReplyDeleteHi Ofa!
ReplyDeleteI love the rhyming and emotion in your poem! I can see that you're not really sure about what's going on and you don't really want to be there.
Well done Ofa!
Nicky :)
