Key Word Summary - Wright Flyer - Wilbur and Orville

Read the text and record key words/phrases that answer these questions:

Who? Wright Brother - Wilbur and Orville

What? They built a aircraft heavier than an air powered aircraft and it was successful.


Where? Kitty Hawk - Near Kill Devil Hills - North California US.


When? The wright brother made their aircraft in 1903. They flew it four times on December 17 1903.

Why? They wanted to prove that they could make an air powered aircraft that they could fly.

How? The Wright Brothers built their aircraft using giant spruce wood. The wings were made with a 1-in-20 camber. A sprocket chain drive, borrowing from a bicycle which powered the twin propellers. Charlie Taylor their employee to build a new design from scratch.

Today for reading we had to summarise about either a plane , helicopter ,  bird or hot balloon we choose for Inquiry. There were three choices to choose so one was the summary (which I am doing) , one was when inference , and the other one was the Main Idea Summary Frame. As you can see I did the Summary One. I did the Wright Flyer's plane to summarise. It is a plane built and designed by the Wright Brother Wilbur and Orville. We had to use the 5 w's to help us summarise. We had to summarise in 25 words. I had really fun doing this. I learnt a lot about the Wright Flyer's plane. I was a bit struggling on summarising but I stall managed to do it. I think for next time I should do this on another plane maybe the Airbus A380 or the Boeing AH-64.

Comets - Find, Draw, Animate, Act

This week for our Reading session we had to skim and skan through a text Called Comet.  After reading the text we had to go in groups of 3-4 and share out words that were were unsure of and give a short definition of what the word means. Our Must Do Task was to use Find, Draw, Animate, and Act (This process that our teach Mr Wong made) for the words we were struggling on. We were given one word each and we had to either find a image of the word , Draw the word, Animate the word or Act the word. For example my word I was given was Orbit. I Act it. How I act was I had one person as the Sun and had 5 people (includes me) around the son being the orbit. I learnt that a Orbit is a Curve Path that an Object in space moves around. In
