Studyladder - Diwali

Image result for diwali

Today for Reading I went on study ladder and read a Information Report about Diwali.  Diwali is a ancient Hindu festival celebrated in autumn and It is the festival of lights. I read the information report about Diwali. I had to understand the text because there were questions to answer. I answered all 10 questions and got them all right.  In a information report there are everyday words ( Timeless Words), impersonal words and Technical words. Here are some examples from the Diwali text. Recognize is a everyday word, They is a impersonal word and Meters is a Technical word.

Maths Work Sheet

Learning Intention - To solve number patterns and find the missing numbers.
This is a Finding Pattern Maths Work Sheet we did for maths today. In this sheet there were lots  of numbers that were already written but we had to fill in the missing number. For example 3, 6, 9, 12 then I had to fill in the next number which will be 15 because it is counting in 3's and when you count 3 more from 12 it is 15. There were some challenging ones but I stall accomplished to finish it. Here is a pattern example for you to solve. Tell what the answer is and how you got it.
53  ?   47   ?    ?    38   ?     ?    ?   26   23   ?   ?.

Maths Work Sheet

Today for maths LS1 had to work out this maths work sheet by finding tens and ones.

Studyladder - Taj Mahal

Today for reading I went on study ladder and read a information report about the Taj Mahal. I read the information report about the Taj Mahal and then there were questions to answer for example questions like Where is it or Who was it built for. I answered all 10 questions and I got all of the 10 questions correct . I learnt some facts about the Taj Mahal like The Taj Mahal building was built out of white marble mausoleum, it took 22 years to build it using 20,000 workers and 1,000 elephants and also the Taj Mahal is well known for its beautiful symmetrical design.

Maths Work Sheet

Today for maths LS1 did a maths work sheet. On this maths sheet I  had to find the hidden word and the hidden sentence by halving, doubling, takeaway and adding numbers.  First I worked out sheet B. I worked it out and the hidden word that was shown was Pig. On sheet A I had to find the missing sentence. By getting the missing sentences again I had to halve, double, takeaway and add numbers. I worked it out and the sentence that was shown was Cats are born with blue eyes.

Week 3 Maths Follow Up Day 5

Day 5
L.I. I am learning to use compatible numbers to solve problems

  1.  6 + 3 + 6 - 12 = 3   6 + 6 = 12     12 - 12 = 0     0 + 3 = 3

2.   5 + 7 + 2 + 6 - 7 = 1     6 + 7 = 13  7 + 5 + 1 from the 2 = 13     13 - 13 = 0    0 + the leftover 1 = 1

3.   6 + 7 + 3 - 10 = 0     10 + 3 = 13   6 + 7 = 13    13 - 13 = 0

4.   5 + 4 +3 +4 - 7 - 9 = 0    9 + 7 = 16     4 + 3 = 7 + 4 = 11 = 5 = 16     16 - 16 = 0

5.   6 + 6 +7 +7 - 14 = 12    7 + 7 = 14    14 - 14 = 0    0 + 6 + 6 = 12

Today for maths we had to solve our last equations for week 3. We had to solve our equations by compatible numbers. For example we had to make pairs that make up to the number for the subtracted numbers and then add the last numbers which is the answer.

Week 3 Maths Follow Up Day 4

Day 4
L.I. I am learning to use compatible numbers to solve problems

  1.  3 + 3 + 6 - 6 = 6    3 + 3 = 6    6 - 6 = 0    0 + 6 = 6

2.   7 + 3 + 7 +3 - 10 - 10 = 0    7 + 3 = 10    10 - 10 = 0     0 + 7 + 3 = 10 - 10 = 0

3.   9 + 3 + 4 - 7 - 2 = 7    7 + 2 = 9    9 - 9 = 0     3 + 4 = 7     0 + 7 = 7

4.   1 + 2 + 5 + 2 - 7 - 3 = 0    7 + 3 = 10    2 + 2 = 4 + 1= 5 + 5 = 10    10 - 10 = 0

5.   7 + 3 +6 + 7 - 9 = 14    6 + 3 = 9    9 - 9 = 0    0 + 7 + 7 = 14

Today for maths my group had been given some equations to answer and solve. For me these answers were easy to solve. I learning intention was to Compatible numbers to solve our equations.

Week 3 Reading Follow Up Task - Bok Choy

Today for reading Koloa and I made a DLO about the recount story we have read. We had to write down what kind of text was it and have the proof and also what the text was about. I learning intention is to modify predictions about a text.

Week 3 Maths Follow Up Day 3

Day 3
L.I. I am learning to use compatible numbers to solve problems

  1.  4 + 2 + 5 - 9 = 2   4 + 5 = 9     9 - 9 = 0    0 + 2 = 2

  1.  8 + 6 + 4 - 10 = 8   6 + 4 = 10    10 -  10 = 0     0 + 8 = 8

  1.  10 + 2 + 7 - 12 = 7    10 + 2 = 12    12  - 12 = 0    0 + 7 = 7

  1.  4 + 5 - 9 = 0     4 + 5 = 9     9 - 9 = 0

  1.  7 + 8 + 2 - 9 = 8     7 + 2 = 9    9 - 9 = 0    0 + 8 = 8
Today for maths my maths group Wakatipu had to solve and answer
these equations. As you can see our learning intention was to compatible numbers to solve our equations.
