Tech Reflection - Graphics
This week was our second session of graphics for the second rotation. The year 8 B (my group) are doing graphics with Mr Pineda. Today we have been drawing and designing our names and some students are up to coloring. During this we have learnt to shade letters in our names and also how to use toondoos. For our toondoos we were to make a comic strip explaining what the graphic expectations are. One of the graphic expectations are: taking your time and don't rush your work. Hopefully next week everyone and get to coloring their names.

After school Basketball - Semi Finals
On Wednesday both Panmure Bridge basketball teams (all year 7 & 8) went down to Tamaki College to play basketball which we do every Wednesday. There were two teams named Panmure Bridge Orange and Panmure Bridge Green. It was a big game for Panmure Bridge Orange (my team) since they were in the Semi Finals trying to qualify in the Finals. We verse Stonefields which was the toughest team we've ever verse in the competition. They had some pretty tall students, but that didn't change our hopes of winning. We sticked to our plan which was: always mark or defend a player and get the rebounds. We tried our best to that and at the end won the game. We were happy to make to the Finals versing Pt England. Hopefully we win the Finals and be the first Panmure Bridge year group to win a Basketball tournament. A huge thank you to Mr Ogilvie for making us part of this competition and also for the transport.

Tech - Hawaiian Pizza
This week Mrs Tuipolotu instructed us to construct our own Hawaiian pizza with our partner. To start, the first person received our pizza bread and spread the tomato paste on top of the bread. While they were doing that the second person which was me then diced the ham, onion, and chicken. When everything was done we put all the toppings on our pizza with a bit of pineapple. After that we topped our pizza with cheese then we put it in an oven which was preheated to 180 degrees for 15 minutes. I really enjoyed and in my perspectives this is my favorite cooking session out of all. I also enjoyed food tech today because I drunk the pineapple juice.

Afterschool Basketball|Panmure Bridge Orange
Yesterday after school two year 7 & 8 teams went down to Tamaki College to play basketball against other manaikalani cluster school. I was part of the Panmure Bridge Orange team and we played against St Patricks Yellow at 5:00. Before the game we talked about who was coming off and on and also telling each other to communicate on the court at all times. At the first half we played well making the score 4-0. At the end our school won 10-0. We were happy of our win and also a big thank you to Mrs Anderson, Mrs Prassad, and Mrs Burke for supervising us.

Food Tech Reflection
Today was our 5th session of food tech with Mrs Tuipolotu (cooking teacher). We were really excited because this was our second time cooking it and we know how delicious the muffins are. We followed the 3 instructions that were compulsory which is follow the instructions, correctly measure the ingredients and being able to read the ingredients properly. I worked with Jeremiah to cook 12 chocolate chip muffins and we enjoyed cooking together. The most important thing we learnt today is to not under mix or over mix our ingredients because if you over mix the muffins the air in the mixture will decrease and if you under mix the mixture the muffins will look really heavy and dents like a rock. If, next time I was to cook chocolate chips muffin I would change something which is to mix more because in my mixture it showed some flowers which meant I didn't mix my ingredient properly. Thank you to Mrs Tuipolotu for teaching us how to cook Chocolate Chip Muffins.
Chocolate Chip Muffin Recipe:
Step 1 - 1, 1/2 cup of Sugar.Flour
Step 2 - 1/2 cup of sugar
Step 3 - 1/2 cup of oil, 1/2 cup of ,milk
Step 4 - 1/4 cup of cocoa, chocolate chips
Step 5 - 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence
Step 6 - 1 egg
Step 7 - Mix all ingredients and scoop 1 teaspoons each muffin into muffin tray
Step 8 - Bake 180 degrees for 15 minutes

Tech Reflections | Art
Today was our fourth session for art and will be our last session since we are rotating next week. For our last session of art we finished of our wakahuia (wakahuia is special jewelry box) drawings. We learnt that there is two different types of wakahuia which is the traditional one and the contemporary one. The traditional wakahuia includes feathers from the huia birds and has more cultural Maori patterns. It also consist carving on it.The contemporary is the opposite. It has no feathers from the huia bird has no carving on it. It has less details and patterns. My wakahuia drawing above has two different parts to it. The drawing of lid is at the bottom and my patterns are on the top. A big thank you to Mrs Telefoni for teaching us last term and a bit of this term.

Tech Reflection | At Tamaki College
Today was our second session of art for term 2. Today we had a reliever name Mr Pineda who is a graphic teacher. Today we learnt what a light, shade and shadow are. For this task we were to draw shapes like a circle and then we had to add a light shade where the sun is facing and a dark shade where the sun is not facing. To make the shade more notable and darker we blended the blue with the green. Then the last bit was to draw the reflection of the shape which is usually at the bottom. For this activity I have drawn a square and a triangular prism. It was pretty easy since I've done this with my teacher for the past previous years.

PE at Tamaki College
On Friday as usually LS2 went to tech. This was our last session for tech this year. The year 7 cooking group made their delicious chocolate log. We finished it by decorating it with berries, white chocolate, and sprinklers. After our tech session we were lucky to have an activity day at Tamaki College. We were split into three groups and had to go to three different activities. The activities were Social Science (with Ms Apelu), PE (with Mr Moyes), and Robotics with Mr Dunn. I was in the PE group and our coach was Mr Moyes. As always before playing games we did a warm up game which was called infinity tag. Infinity tag is when you can tag anyone.
Rules
1. If two people tag each other at the same time you have play to rock, paper, scissors with them. The person who wins continues and the loser sits down.
2. If the person who taged you got taged by another person you get to be a tagger.
After playing infinity tag we played two other games called Bench ball and Samoan Softball. My favorite game was Samoan Softball. It's similar to real softball but you don't use any bat. We played different to Samoan Softball. Instead of using bases we had to run from wall to another wall. By getting someone out you have to throw the ball to them. One of the main rules is you can't run with the ball when taging someone. You have to pass it to someone who's closer to the person running. We were split into two groups. We had a red team and a blue team. My team was the red team we started off by bating. We did really well. I think the fielding team did a great job with catching our hits. At end of the game red won, but the main thing was we all had fun.

Food Tech - Chicken Guojons
Today was tech and our cooking teacher Mrs Heka taught us how to cook chicken goujons. Our topic for food technology was all about healthy. Jeremiah and I worked collaboratively to finish our cooking and also clean our area as well. I enjoyed putting all the mixtures into our chicken. The hard thing was using the tongs to turn our chicken around because all the oil was poping out. After finish cooking our goujons we put sauce into it to make our goujons delicious.

Tech - Digital Tech
Today for tech we started on making our own animated story on scatch. It took us a a long time to find our backdrops and sprites. Our animated story had to be based on Healthy Living in the Tamaki Community. First we had to read the project insturction on how to create our animated story. We reflected back to our Abbey and Devin animated story to get an example. My animated story is on picking up rubbish. I have learnt that we had to include a minimum of three pages.

DigiTech : Problems, Solutions and Timeframes
Needs and Opportunities - Problems and Solutions (Brainstorm)
For our Needs and Opportunities task we had to talk about the healthy living in the Tamaki Community. We had to name some problems of healthy living in the Tamaki Community. One of my problems was rubbish. Rubbish is a problem because it pollutes our enviourment which is not good for the marine life. I have also inserted pictures to show you so the DLO looks amazing.
Key Stages and Timeframes (Plan of Action)
Key Stages and Time Frames Spread Sheets
Our Key stages and Time stages task shows you the activity we are going to do and finish and how long it takes to do it. Some activities task 1 lesson and some take 2 lessons.
