Summer Learning Journey|Week 1 Day 1 Activities

This year is the Summer Learning Journey and there are amazing activities to do during the Summer Holidays. I've done 3 activities for Week 1, Day 1. The activities were based on cyber smart footprint tips, facts about New Zealand, and a special hometown to you. My favorite activity was Auckland being my hometown because it's nice how I could describe how Auckland looks like. In my DLO I've explained places you could go to and also the mix of culture population in Auckland and how most of my family lives in Auckland.

  1. Kia ora Ofa,

Welcome to the Summer Learning Journey! It is great to see that you have already gotten into so many of the Summer Learning Journey activities and it's only the first day! You probably remember me from assembly when I came in to speak with you all about the SLJ. I will be reading all the blog posts from the Panmure Bridge School students this year.

Activity 1: Thanks for telling me all these awesome facts about New Zealand. I really like how you created an image to answer each of the questions. That was very creative of you! Do remember that you must attribute your images that you use in your blog posts. If you want to learn how to do this, you can go onto the 'Cyber Smart' tab on the Summer Learning Journey website.

Activity 2: I am so glad that you love Auckland, because so do I. It is such a fun and exciting city to live in. I love getting to visit Waiheke, have you been to the beaches there? They're so beautiful.

Activity 3: You have told me some great rules for staying smart online! All of the suggestions you have mentioned are an awesome way to create a positive digital footprint.

Keep up the awesome work, Ofa!

    Cheers,

    Sophie

  2. Hi Ofa,
I can definitely see that you take pride in Auckland and how your family can relate to it and it’s culture. I also like how with your advice about cyber bullies you include talking to your parents as they would definitely be able to help.
    Keep up the good work,
    Alex
