LI: To find the most important (main) idea in a text.
LI: To find related words.
Today for our Reading session first we had to Scan for words we were unsure of through a text called The Robber's Mask and played a game (called finding new words) where each team had six different Ice Block Colored Sticks and had only 5 minutes to find as many definition as we could of the words we were unsure of. After that we had to tell our teacher (Mr Wong) our definitions and if it was a well explained definition we get traded one Ice Block colored stick. We say our definitions and keep on trading sticks until we had one whole set of only one color. Ruapehu Group's Must Do task was to make a word web (altogether in one google slides) and find the definitions of the world we were unsure of in the book (The Robber's Mask:Narrative), also have Synonyms of the words (similar meaning) and Antonyms (opposite meaning). I learnt that Gloomy means Unhappy and without hope and also learnt that Thumped means To hit something and cause a noise. I was very struggling on finding Antonyms for the word we were unsure of. I think for next time when we (Ruapehu Group) find Synonyms for words we struggle on we should write just a short definition of what it means instead of having the word by itself.
