Summer Learning Journey - Week 1 Day 4 Activities

For the Summer Learning Journey I have completed Week 1, Day 4 activities. I enjoyed these activities especially the hotel. For this activity I was to write down where I would build a hotel of mine and what it would be made out of. I was also to draw my own room for that hotel. As you can see I have drawn my bunk bed which is what I will have if I was to build a hotel. Why? Because if your sleeping on the top bunk you can see the beautiful view of Tongatapu. The other activities I did was How to make watermelon and pineapple otai (Tongan traditional drink) and the Sir Edmund Hillary interview questions. One of my questions I would ask to Sir Edmund Hillary is How does it feel to be on the $5 note.

  1. Talofa Lava Ofa,

It is great to see that your putting a lot of effort into these activities. Your drawing looks amazing. I love the colours too. It matches your room. It's good to know that you would build a hotel of your own. "Mhhh Yummm" I love Otai, it's the best. Your Sir Edmund Hillary DLO looks great, because of the images and information.

    Nice Work!

  2. Hello Ofa,
Well done another activitys completed!. I think I would use your recipe on how to make Otai helpful because I love drinking it!. It is such a nce tropical drink!. I like your questions to Sir Edmund Hillary. I like the first question the most because we get to know whether he had a role model that inspired him to take risks and follow your dreams!. I think that your hotel is so creative building it out of brick!> Keep it up!

  3. Hello Ofa! Great job on all of these activities, they turned out well. It just happens that I've had Otai not so long ago, made by my mom. It was interesting finding out more on how to make Watermelon and pineapple Otai. Is that your favourite summer drink? If not, what is? Keep it up!

  4. Hey Ofa,
Good job on these activities. I can see how being on the top bunk would give you an amazing view, especially if you went on top of the hotel. I also think that Sir Edmund Hillary would have been pretty happy when he found out about the $5 note.
    Keep it up,
    Alex

  5. Kia Ora Ofa,

I’m Dani, a blog commenter for the Summer Learning Journey. I normally spend my time in the Kaikohekohe cluster but I have had the chance to check out some amazing posts in the Manaiakalani cluster! I look forwarding to reading and commenting on Manaiakalani learner’s blogs.

Tino pai for crafting an interesting list of questions for Sir Edmund Hillary. I am sure that Sir Ed had moments on the journey when he thought of giving up and turning around. He showed great determination and perseverance to overcome the physical and mental hurdles he would have faced. These days climbing Mt Everest is something on many people’s bucket lists. Would you ever want to climb Mt Everest? I would love to hike to Base Camp at the base of Mt Everest, it takes 12 days and I think it would be an amazing hike to do.

Yum, the watermelon and pineapple Otai sounds delicious! It sounds like the perfect thing to have on a hot summer’s day. Do you have it very often at home during the summertime? I am a massive fan of watermelons during summertime so I think I should try it this weekend! Do you enjoy cooking or baking at home? I love baking different cakes and things for my friends.

Wow I can imagine the view from your hotel would be spectacular! I think it would be a good idea to build your hotel out of strong materials so it can stand up against the toughest cyclones that come through Tonga. When was the last time that you went back to Tonga? I have never left New Zealand but Tonga sounds very beautiful and I would love to explore it someday soon!

    Blog ya later,

    Dani
