How does a plane fly
Planes are enormous flat surface machines that fly humans from one side of the earth to another side. There are four forces that an airplane will need to fly which is weight , lift , thrust and drag.
Thrust is the force which moves the plane forward through the air. Weight is the force that makes the plane go down. Lift is the force that makes the plane go up into the air. Lift overcomes weight to hold the plane in the air. Lift is also created mostly by the wings to keep the plan in the air. Drag is the force that makes the plane slow down or make it go backwards. Gravity causes weight , air resistance causes drag , the wings causes lift and the direction causes thrust. The airplane's wings are shaped to make the air move faster on top of the wing. If there is more air pressure below of the wings than above of the wings the plane will go up which is the force of lift and if there is more air pressure on top of the wings than below the plane will go down which is the force of weight.
When the plane fly’s it can navigate the way it wants to with 3 wing attachments which is Aileron, Elevator, and Rudder. A aileron is a part along the back edge of an airplane’s wing that can be move to help the airplane turn. A . So if you want to change the direction of where the plane is going just change the rudder. When you turn the rudder it will produce lift force. If you would like the airplane to go down all you do is lower the elevator and then that will bend the elevator and produce lift force as well. The lift force will make the nose of the plane go down and if you would want the plane to come back up just reverse the elevator.
L.I: To learn the purpose of an explanation text.
L.I: To learn the structure and language features of an explanation text.
This week for writing we are focusing on writing a explanation text. For our writing lesson we compared a information report text about humpbacks and a explanation text about ants. We compared both pieces of writing to find the structure and language features of an explanation text. We had to highlight the language features and structure of both information report and explanation text. I had fun doing this. Our writing must do was to write a explanation text on how do planes fly. I had fun doing this as well. I learnt some differences of an information report and a explanation text. In a information report there is subheadings and in a explanation text there's not. In a explanation text there are pictures included and in a information report there's not. I
