Maths Problems - Follow Up Maths Day 3

Day 3

WALT: I am learning to use compatible numbers to solve problems like 5 + 3 + 6 - 8, by first adding five and three to get eight then removing the eight.

  1. 4 + 2 + 5 - 9 =20              4 + 2 = 6 + 4 from the 5 = 10 + 1 = 11 - 1 from the 9 = 10   10 - 8 = 2
  2. 8 + 5 + 2 -7 =  8               8 + 5 = 13 + 2 = 15   15 - 5 from the 7 = 10     10 - 2 = 8
  3. 10 + 2 + 7 - 12 = 5           10 + 2 = 12   2 from the 7 = 9   10 + 9 = 19    19 - 2 from the 12 = 17      17 - 12  = 5
  4. 10 + 5 - 15 = 0                 10 + 5 = 15     15 - 15 = 0
  5. 2 + 6 + 4 + 3 - 7 = 8          6 + 4 = 10 + 2 = 12 + 3 = 15     15 - 5 from the 7 = 10   10 - 2 = 8

Today for maths my group had to solve out these problems. We had to solve out this problem by compatible numbers to solve problems like 5 + 3 + 6 - 8, by first adding five and three to get eight then removing eight.
