For the Summer Learning Journey I did 3 activities for Week 1 Day 3. These activities were called a place to stand. The activities I've done were building snowbanks for endangered animals (freshwater seals), DOC Ranger, and the Fantastic Beast. I mostly enjoyed the Fantastic Beast because I got to draw and also describe it. In one of my activities I've learnt that the WWF team were helping the freshwater seals by building snowbanks for them.
I am a Year 8 student at Panmure Bridge School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Learning Space 2 and my teachers are Ms Kirkpatrick and Mrs Anderson.

1. Tourists could visit our local library.
2. They could also visit the Panmure Pools which has a slide and a diving pool.
3. Tourist should also visit our local fire station.

Summer Learning Journey - Week 4 - Day 3 - Activity 1
Today for the Summer Learning Journey I completed activity for day 3 of week 4. For this activity I had to imagine that I had to form a coalition government with two other people.
I would choose my teachers Mrs Anderson and Ms Kirkpatrick. I would choose Mrs Anderson because she really creative with learning and she really fun to be with. Ms Kirkpatrick would be great because she is really smart and fun to be with as well. These two and I will form a good coalition group.

Dear Mr. Johnson,
I have been thinking all day about having 5 days of school. I think we should have 4 days of doing school work like Reading, Writing and Reading and then on the 5th day (Friday) students can choose their favorite subject (e.g - art). This is similar to electives where we choose our favorite activities to do. This gives students a chance to learn their favorite subject instead of always doing Reading, Writing and Maths. I think this should happen because students have been improving in their academics and I think on Friday they should have a break.
Sincerely,
Ofa Latuila

Two things I like
1. I really like the men long pants.
2. I really like the colors of the girls outfit. It looks great.
Two things I don't like
1. I don't like the men belt because I think it doesn't suit the pants.

Today for the Summer Learning Journey I have completed activity 2 for day 3, week 2. For this activity I had to imagine that I was alive in the 1930s. What could you have done to help these families? On my blog I had to list three different ways that I could raise funds for families to help them buy food and clothing. I had to be creative as I can with my fundraising ideas!
First Idea - Car Wash - Ask my friends or families if I could wash their car
Second Idea - Dance Performance - I could do a dance perfomance in a family gathering (like family reunion)
Third Idea - Food eating competetion - I could race other people at eating fast food

Today for the Summer Learning Journey I have completed one of the Summer Learning Journey activities. For this activity I had to tell what I do when I want to relax or when I am de-stress.
When I want to relax I go to my friends house and play master (basketball game) or play rugby. Playing with my friends makes me feel better. If my friends are out for the day I would usually watch T.V.

Summer Learning Journey - Week 1 - Day 3 - Activity 1
For the Summer Learning Journey I have completed Activity 1 for Day 3. For this activity I had to imagine that I was in the 1800s and I had nine syblings. I had to tell how I would feel and why or why not would I enjoy it in a large family.

Being in a large family would be great for me. I would feel delighted to have nine syblings. I would have a large family because you can get a lot of help from them if doing work around the house or school work. You could also get good advice from your syblings for any problem. Having a large family would help me a lot in my life.

Winter Learning Journey - Wild Eyes - More pork
Curious Kiwi, a native New Zealand bird, is your tour guide for today. He is going to take you to visit the Otorohanga Kiwi House and Native Bird Park where many of his aunties and uncles currently live. The bird park is a five hour drive from Dargaville so you hit the road right after breakfast and arrive in Otorohanga at lunch time. As you walk through the birdhouse you learn about the work being done to conserve and protect the native birds of New Zealand. You decide to help out by ‘adopting’ a native animal. Visit the ‘Adopt a Critter page’ on the Otorohanga bird house website to choose one animal to adopt. On your blog, tell us the name of the animal that you chose and a little bit about them. What kind of animal are they? What do they eat? Where do they normally live? You can use Google to help you with your research.
The animal I have choose to adopt is the More pork. More pork which is also called Tasmanian spotted owl, is a small brown owl discovered throughout in New Zealand and Tasmanian. Did you know that female More pork's are bigger than the males. Female More pork weights about 175 g. Not many people know that More pork's Maori name is called ruru. Are you aware that More pork's mostly eat a variety of food but are mainly eating large insects like weta, huhu beetles, moths and cicadas.
