Summer Learning Journey|Week 1 Day 2 Activities

How to solve the problem - This problems is simple to solve out. All you do is times 3 to 365 since there is 365 days in a year. This will equal 1095 which means the answer is 1095 ml.

Today I have started Week Day activities for the 2018 Summer Learning Journey. There were 3 activities for day 2 which were based on why you would visit Tane Mahuta, find out 3 sport teams in NZ that has the fern on their uniform and a cactus maths problem. My favorite one was the cactus maths problem which is actually called weird and wonder. This was my favorite one because maths is my favorite subject and it was easy to solve out.

Bonus Activity: Shake it Off

In recent years, many New Zealanders have embraced a new form of exercise called Zumba©. It was developed by a man named Alberto Perez who lives in the country of Columbia. He created Zumba by bringing together many different dance styles including: cumbia, mambo, hip-hop, soca, samba, salsa, tango, merengue and mambo.

Choose one of the dance styles mentioned above and click on the name to read more about it. Once you are done, post three interesting facts about the dance style on your blog. In which country did it originate? Who originally created it?  

I decided to choose samba.

1. Samba is orignally a Brazilian music genre and dance style.

2. Most of the Samba drum is made out of light material so its easy for people to carry it on long parades.

3. Bands traditionally play Samba, which is carnival rhythms, in Brazil. 

Summer Learning Journey - Week 4 - Day 2 - Activity 2

Today for the Summer Learning I did the first activity for the second day of the fourth week, for it I had to tell my sporting hero. I have to tell who they are? Why are they a hero? and also include a photo of them.

My sporting hero is Jason Taumalolo. He is a former North Queensland Cowboys in the NRL (National Rugby League). He is also a Tongan international representative. He played for the 2017 Mate Ma'a Tonga team last year. I was so proud that they made it to the Semi Finals with England. In 2016 he was named the RLPA (Rugby League Players Association) player of the year.

Peter Snell - Documentary

Today I have completed the Bonus activity for Day 2. For this activity I had to watch a documentary about a famous kiwi runner name Peter Snell. After watching the documentary I had to create a one-page poster on Canva* about Peter Snell. I had to be sure to include a picture of Peter along with information about his interests and other sporting accomplishments. As you can see my poster is above.

Summer Learning Journey - Week 3 - Day 2 - Activity 2

Today for the Summer Learning Journey I have completed activity 2 for day 2. For this activity I had to read a text about the Beatles tour of New Zealand and then write 3 interesting facts about their tour.

1. The Beatles first stop was in Wellington where there were seven thousand fans (most of them were young women).

2. The crowds outside the Beatles hotel (the St George) was large that the Beatles had to be taken in secretly through a bottle shop entrance of the hotel.

3. One girl hurt her leg trying to climb a wire fence and two others were forced through the fence because of pushing from behind.

Summer Learning Journey - Week 3 - Day 2 - Activity 1

Today I have completed activity 1 for day 2. For this activity I had to say what my favorite television show is, who the main characters are, what it's about and what channel its on.The TV show I like the most and I watch the most is Henry Danger. There a two main characters in this show name Henry Hart and Captain Man. This TV show is basically about a man name Captain Man who has a sidekick name Henry Hart and they fight bad criminals to save their city. This TV show is on Nickelodeon.

Summer Learning Journey - Week 2 - Day 2 - Activity 1

For the Summe Learning Journey activity I had to watch a movie trailer called Gold Rush. After we had watch the trailer we had to write what we think about the movie. This movie contains no dialog. We also have write if we would enjoy watching a silent film.

In the trailer it shows a lot of characters and each character has its own unqie role. I think the movie is about these unique characters going on adventures and chasing dreams. I wouldnt watch this movie because the quality is terrible. I dont think I could watch a whole video with no dialog.

Summer Learning Journey - Week 1 - Day 2 - Bonus Activity

Foir the Summer Learning Journey I have completed the Bonus Activity for Day 2, Week1. For this activity I had to post a picture on my blog of my favorite meal. I had to tell what it is and why  it is my favorite meal.
My favorite meal is pizza from pizza hut. I like their pizzas because the crust is big and delicous. This is my favorite meal because you get different kinds of flavors. My favorite pizza is BBQ Beef and Onion. I like this BBQ Beef and Onion becase I really like Beef  in it. It taste very delicous. I also like the crust. I like eating pizza because you get a lot of slices (8 slices of pizza).

Summer Learning Journe - Week 1 - Day 2 - Activity 2

For the Summer Lerning Journey I finshed off activity 2 for day 2. For this activity I had to draw a picture of my dream job. As you can see I have drawn a plane because I want to become a pilot in the future. I would like to become a pilot because you get to travel around the world especially to places you've never been before. The only country I have been to is Tonga. 

Summer Learning Journey - Week 1 - Day 2 - Activity 1

For the Summer Learning Journey I am on Day 2 Activity 1. For this activty I had to find the similarities and differences of a wharepuni and my house. I have learnt that a traditional wharepuni had a thatched roof and walls made with timber, fern, rushes and bark. I think the wharepuni does not look like my house.

Simmarlarites - The simmarlariters between my house and the wharepuni is that people are inside their houses not outside. 

Differences - A wharepuni is a large room decorated outside and inside with images of gods, ancestors and other figures. A wharepuni is panted brown. 

Differenc - In my house we have three bedrooms a living room, kitchen and a laundrymat. My house is panted white. My house has a very large backyard and a tree house as well. 

P.B.S Holiday Blogging Challenge - Day 2 - Bonus Activity

For the Bonus Activity for Day 2 we had to find different adventurous activities that we can do at the Sky Tower. We had to choose one and explain why we choose that activity and how much will it cost. For example I have chose the Sky Jump. I have explained why I choose it and at the bottom I have written how much it cost. 

P.B.S Holiday Blogging Challenge - Day 2 - Activity 2

Today is Day 2 for the P.B.S Holiday Blogging Challenge. For activity 2 we had to create a new Mascot for Sky City to help out while Scotty (Sky City Mascot) is away. The DLO above shows you my Mascot and Scotty. My Mascot's name is Jeff. I think I have done a great job creating my own Sky City Mascot. 

P.B.S Holiday Blogging Challenge - Day 2 - Activity 1

Today is Day 2 for the P.B.S Blogging Challenge. For activity 1 I had to use our smart searching skills to find out 5 interesting facts about the Sky Tower. We had to create a DLO so that we could share our learning to other people. The DLO above has shown the 5 interesting facts I found out and the Sky City Auckland site. I have also added an attributed photo of the the Sky Tower.

Winter Learning Journey - Exploring Places

After a very busy day of sightseeing you and your group drive from Tane Mahuta to your hotel in Dargaville. When you arrive you decide to sit down and record your thoughts in your travel diary.

Before you start writing, take a minute to read more about Rangitoto island, Karekare beach and Tane Mahuta.  On your blog, tell us which of the three places you most enjoyed visiting and why.

Out of the three place I would mostly go to Karekare Beach because it is Auckland's most spectacular beaches and wilderness areas. I would also go to Karekare beach because you can do a lot of things there like surf.

Winter Learning Journey - Laura Dekker Questions

For this task As an island nation, New Zealand is completely surrounded by water. It is the perfect place for people who like to swim or to sail! While in Dargaville, recovering from your busy day of sightseeing, you notice a number sailboats going by. One of the boats is manned by a young German girl named Laura Dekker. At the age of fourteen she sailed around the world the entire world by herself. You can watch a short video clip about her adventures here: Laura Dekker sailing trip.
