Winter Learning Journey Challenge - Sports in the ancient olympics
This year for Winter Learning Journey our theme was Olympics. I did one of the activities about Ancient Olympics Sports and this my DLO. I had to choose what one I would like to compete in and why I like it.
Hello Ofa, I see that you have been busy doing the Winter Learning Journey Challenge. I like how you added some images of ancient pictures about wrestling.
I am so happy to see that you are both busy doing the Winter Learning Journey challenge. That is awesome! I also like the images that you chose, Ofa, of the ancient wrestlers. Wrestling certainly is a dynamic and amazing sport. I really admire men and women who wrestle!
In fact, when I was a student at Simon Fraser University in Canada I used to go and watch the men and women's wrestling teams practice in our local gym. They often practiced at the same time everyday so I would go in and watch for 10 of 15 minutes. The athletes were incredibly strong and they all trained for hours at a time. It takes a lot of discipline to be a wrestler. Do you think that you could ever train to be a wrestler?
Hi Ofa, I really like you're post since you chose wrestling for its movements, not for the violence. Did you know that in ancient times, there were no ropes or fancy moves? All you would try and do was throw your opponent on the ground! Keep it up, Thomas
Hi Ofa I like how you chose wrestling for it's movements and not for something like wrestlers have big muscles or for fighting with lots of people. Keep up the great work. Daniel
